Inmates sue alcoholic beverage companies

Five inmates from Idaho are suing several alcohol producers for allegedly duping them about the effects of alcohol. Their $1 billion law suit is based on the premise that alcohol caused the inmates’ crimes. They also argue that they would never have had a drink had they known that drinking could lead to alcoholism. The inmates fail to comment on their own personal responsibility.

    The lawsuit from the inmates in Idaho is frivolous so it should be tossed from court. What those men are saying is that alcoholic beverages and not their actions, led them to do their crimes. This is the same attitude which supporters of Prohibition in the early 20th century said. Personal responsibility does not go away when a person has drunk alcohol beverages, especially if a person has drunk responsibly. I think that all the men have heard of alcoholism so the claim about alcoholism is absurd.

    This is absolutely ridiculous, and quite sad at the same time. Apparently these people have never heard of personal responsibility.
