Jeffrey A. Tucker Provides Viewpoint on Lowering the Drinking Age

A few months back, Jeffrey A. Tucker made several valuable insights in his article entitled “Lowering the Drinking Age”:

Most accurately put, Tucker states, “We see all the unintended effects of Prohibition: over-indulgence, anti-social behavior, disrespect for the law, secrecy and sneaking, and a massive diversion of human energy….135 colleges have signed support for a lower drinking age. Their goal is not to encourage more drinking but to recognize the unreality of the current law, and how it has led to perverse consequences on campus.”

Tucker provides a geographic map of drinking age breakdown across the globe, bringing a greater sense of impact to an argument rarely visualized. He also speaks to the culture of convenience stores as enforcement.
